That is seriously a stunning red dress. And I love the patterns on your fishnet tights. The whole outfit woked perfectly and you looked incredible

I almost did not buy the dress simply because I never try anything on that bold, but like I said it is time to push my own style boundaries!

Thank you so much!

Damn Tumblr!!

My “read more” link is not working. Sorry the last post is taking up so much space on your Dash…trying to edit and fix it now.

Ugh.

Seeing Red

A few weeks ago I was invited to do press for the Harry Potter exhibit/DVD release here in NYC. It was a three day event and the third day included doing interviews on the red carpet and going to a dinner party thrown by Warner Brothers.

I decided on this outfit.

I thought the red dress was a nice bright colour. I usually do not wear something with such a dominant colour, but like I have said before, one of my resolutions was to push my own style boundaries. So I left the little black dress at home and went with the red.

Despite loving the dress, I was worried that a short, fitted, strapless, red dress might be a bit too sexy for the occasion. So I added the short cropped jacket, lace tights and my grey knee high boots to tone it down the overall look.

I liked the end result. I thought the boots and jacket took the look from what would have been bold-risque to more of a bold-edgy.

I paired my clothes with some teal/turquoise jewelry. Some simple earrings, my large teal ring and a necklace that has the hand of hamsa on it.

I like long earrings, and I love big rings so if I am to wear a necklace I usually keep that piece of jewelry small to balance out the earrings and ring.

It was cold out on the red carpet so I threw on my green jacket to keep me warm and just belted it around my waist.

I love this coat. It is very warm, and it a little larger on me but that works to my advantage as I did not even have to remove the little black jacket. It fit comfortably under the coat.

It was an enjoyable evening and despite the fact I am carrying around a few extra pounds of winter weight, I felt comfortable and confident in the outfit. That for me is a win-win situation!

Any questions/comments about the outfit can be left here.

I have not updated in a while. Apologies. I have been sick and real life has been catching up with me, keeping me busy.

However I am back and therefore look out for some updates on the blog this week!

Stepped out of my comfort zone and did my nails in green for St Patrick’s Day.

I actually don’t hate it.
